Summary:

McCarthy Holthus is seeking a Litigation Assistant to support our legal team. Under the supervision of a licensed attorney, the Litigation Assistant will perform a variety of administrative and legal support tasks, including drafting, revising, and filing court pleadings and discovery documents. This role also involves assisting with case management and ensuring clients are kept informed on the status of active litigation matters.


Description of Duties:

  • Support an associate attorney on litigation matters by managing assigned tasks.

  • Prepare, revise, and file legal documents with state and federal courts.

  • Schedule hearing coverage and maintain case calendars and deadlines.

  • Request and track records related to active litigation.

  • Monitor case timelines to ensure timely action and documentation.

  • Communicate professionally with clients regarding case status and updates.

  • May be asked to perform other tasks as needed to support the team or business. These duties may change based on the company’s needs.


Experience and Skills:

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a litigation assistant or paralegal role.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in document handling.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal teams, customers, and external partners.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive office environment.

  • Familiarity with state and federal court rules and filing procedures.

  • Proficiency in electronic court filing systems.

  • Experience supporting legal matters involving secured mortgage lenders or loan servicers is a plus but not required.


Work Schedule:

The work week is typically Monday through Friday, with business hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Employees are required to be onsite 2-3 days per week following a 90-day training period and upon management approval.


Salary Range:

The salary for this position typically ranges from $18.00-$25.00 an hour, depending on qualifications, experience, and other factors. Please note that the final offer may differ based on the candidate's specific qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity and business needs.

A corporate office environment with a professional setting, characterized by a quiet to moderate noise level. Employees may work in individual or shared workspaces, with standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and telephones. Occasional meetings, collaborative discussions, and business activities may contribute to variations in noise levels.
