Associate Attorney - Litigation - TX

Position Overview-

  • Manage legal aspects of the firm’s creditor’s rights litigation practice representing secured and unsecured creditors.
  • Portfolio management of an average of 50-75 active litigation cases focusing on pretrial practice, trial practice, and appellate practice with an emphasis on case oversight, strategic planning, client communication, document management, risk assessment, and settlement negotiations.
  • Serve as lead counsel during stages of litigation focusing on pre-litigation, pleadings, discovery, trial preparation, trial attendance, post-trial, and appeals.
  • Guide operational staff in implementing procedural changes and approve these changes as needed.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on the firm’s needs and on your career development/progress.

Experience and Competencies

Required-

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • License to practice law in Texas
  • 3-5 years of experience as lead counsel representing financial institutions in contested litigation

Our ideal candidate will bring with them-

  • Admission to practice before all four Texas federal districts
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Proficiency in legal research applications such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or other related systems.
  • Experience in managing contested default cases and banking litigation specific to the jurisdiction

What you can look forward to

Work Location and Schedule

  • We practice law in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington. Our York, Nebraska office supports all locations. This hybrid position requires onsite presence 2-3 days per week after a 90-day training period and upon management approval.
  • Typically, your schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Hybrid Schedule- employees are required to be onsite 2-3 days per week following a 90-day training period and upon management approval.
  • Competitive Salary- The pay range for this position is $90,000 to $125,000 per year.

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus
